Chris Ramsey (born 1986) is an English Stand-up comedian and actor from South Shields.

Life and careerEdit

Raised in South Shields in South Tyneside,[1] Ramsey studied Film and Media at the University of Sunderland. He decided to leave without completing the degree in order to focus upon his career in stand-up comedy, which was becoming more established and time-consuming.

In March 2012, he was cast in the lead role of Jack Pearson in Jason Cook's sitcom Hebburn. First broadcast in October 2012 on BBC Two, the show is set in Hebburn, near to Ramsey's hometown, South Shields.

Ramsey has also made several appearances on other TV shows, including Mock the Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Russell Howard's Good News and 8 Out of 10 Cats

As of 2012, he is also a semi-regular panellist on Celebrity Juice.

His trademark 'Geordie hair flick' has become popular in the Newcastle area, being named "Newcastle Hairstyle of the Year 2012".
